Mike O’Brien uses his ten years of sports play-by-play experience, combined with a reliable quick-wit to deliver a compelling broadcast that engages those tuning in from start to finish. Dependable and self-motivated, he realizes that a quality sports broadcast cannot be just a recitation of who has the ball and who is scoring, but also requires background, honest analysis and an energetic opinion.

A communicator who thrives on building relationships with the teams and people he covers, Mike realizes that every game is a drama within itself and that everyone involved has a story of their own. He works diligently to provide the listener and viewer with an in-depth perspective of the organization as a whole and how each point of view may impact the game at hand.

Mike started his career in broadcasting on the other side of the microphone, working in the Television and Media Ventures department of the National Hockey League. It was at NHL that he was not only able to digest the business side of sports broadcasting, but also spent his weekends as a cameraman/producer for WFMZ-TV in Allentown, PA in order to educate himself on the nuances of television production.

The knowledge Mike gathered helped him cultivate a method for broadcasting that he employed when he received with first opportunity with the Trenton Titans of the ECHL. It was over his years with Trenton and later the Lowell Devils of the American Hockey League that he further developed the ideology that he applies today to all his broadcasts.
